A rural village outside Nara.
The road is packed with villagers. Children climb fences and stone walls for a better view. Merchants have closed their shops. Farmers have come in from the fields.
A great samurai lord and his family have arrived, accompanied by an impressive contingent of retainers.
This is no ordinary visit. The village has become a popular destination, and everyone has come to see the legendary figure they have heard so much about—
the blond samurai.
The villagers line both sides of the road.
Then the chanting begins.
